    Family fun and summer adventures    

    
Soak up the last of summer, and keep it local. This board is backing free events, activities and experiences that help bring our community together.

    Flat Bush pop-up library    

    
Coming April 2026, a temporary Flat Bush library will open just outside the food court at Ormiston Town Centre, offering access to the Auckland Council Libraries collection, computers, printing and community activities.

    Howick Library closed temporarily

   

 Howick Library and the adjacent Fencible Lounge is closed until August 2026, for a major renewal. Temporary services are available at the pop-up library at Howick War Memorial Hall, 91 Picton Street.

Pestfree moth pod comp

Registrations are open for this year’s Moth Plant pod competition, with a new points system, early bird registration bonuses by 1 March, fun challenges for all ages, prizes, and the chance to tackle Auckland’s invasive moth plant!

Want to help your household waste less food? Apply for $500–$6,000 to run creative projects that share practical tips, inspire smarter meal planning, and reduce Auckland’s household food waste. Closes 15 March 2026.

More than $1 million is available to support local projects that tackle climate change and boost emergency readiness. Community groups, schools, and social enterprises can apply to the Te Ara Urutau fund from 2 Feb–8 Mar 2026.
