Howick Local Board Activities

Family fun and summer adventures
Soak up the last of summer, and keep it local. This board is backing free events, activities and experiences that help bring our community together.

Flat Bush pop-up library
Coming April 2026, a temporary Flat Bush library will open just outside the food court at Ormiston Town Centre, offering access to the Auckland Council Libraries collection, computers, printing and community activities.

Howick Library closed temporarily
Howick Library and the adjacent Fencible Lounge is closed until August 2026, for a major renewal. Temporary services are available at the pop-up library at Howick War Memorial Hall, 91 Picton Street.

How locals are making the most

We visited local families at the destination playground and the upgraded Wetlands Building in Barry Curtis Park to see how the refreshed spaces are making a difference in their lives. Check out the video!
