    Flat Bush pop-up library    

    Coming April 2026, a temporary Flat Bush library will open just outside the food court at Ormiston Town Centre, offering access to the Auckland Council Libraries collection, computers, printing and community activities.

    Howick Library closed temporarily

   

 Howick Library and the adjacent Fencible Lounge is closed until August 2026, for a major renewal. Temporary services are available at the pop-up library at Howick War Memorial Hall, 91 Picton Street.

    Eastern Busway project update

East Auckland bus improvements, funding for the Eastern Busway, record-fast Tī Rākau Drive/Pakūranga Hwy intersection, eastbound traffic switch, and Pakūranga Road upgrades. Read more.

Refreshed look and feel    

    
Ti Rākau Park in Pakūranga has a fresh new look. Public toilets are open, and modern changing rooms with showers, benches, and hooks will open by the end of March. Proud to make this upgrade possible for our community.

    Howick Beach seawall works    

    
Repairs to Howick Beach seawall has started (six weeks, weather permitting). Erosion has weakened sections near the sailing club, and contractors will install a new grouted rock wall and landscaping. Follow signage and stay safe.
